Who We Are?

Miniature Cattle Ranch In Montana

Meet the Anderson Family
Owners of XBar6 Miniature Cattle Ranch | Montana

At XBar6 Miniature Cattle Ranch, ranching is more than a livelihood — it’s a legacy. As a family, we are deeply committed to this way of life. In fact, everything we do, from sunup to sundown, revolves around the ranch. Not only is it where we work, but it’s also where we grow, learn, and create memories together.

Because our lives are so closely tied to the land and animals, ranching has become part of our identity. As a result, our daily routines, values, and even our traditions are rooted in a shared love for this lifestyle. Moreover, it brings us a strong sense of purpose and fulfillment.

Ultimately, ranching isn’t just what we do — it’s who we are. It defines us not only as individuals, but also as a family.

Happy to meet ya,

Our Family

Living and working on a ranch can be demanding; however, the joy of raising the last of our three amazing kids and our grand children makes it all worthwhile. While the responsibilities of ranch life is constant, we believe that balancing chores with quality time as a family leads to meaningful moments. In fact, this balance allows for valuable bonding that strengthens our connection as a family.

Moreover, our children and grandchildren have the unique opportunity to experience the beauty and gift of life firsthand. As our children have grown and our grandchildren grow, they have learned and are learning the value of hard work, responsibility, and dedication — lessons that will stay with them forever. Consequently, this rewarding lifestyle helps us create lasting memories and build deep, lifelong connections.

So, if you’re curious about life on our ranch, be sure to check out our mini cattle shenanigans over on Instagram. We love sharing the fun, the chaos, and the joy of our ranching journey with you!

How We Got Here

Ray and Kelly were both raised in the ranching and agriculture industry. At eighteen Ray joined the Marine Corps taking them on journeys around the country for over 20 years.  In all our years away our hearts longed to be home, closer to family and be able to ranch again. Upon retirement we moved back to our beloved Montana. One day Kelly saw a miniature Highland bull and fell in love. Ray being the amazing husband he is, bought Kelly 2 little cows. That was just the beginning of what is now Xbar6 Miniature Cattle.

Our Core Values

Placing God, family, stewardship of animals, and giving to others at the forefront of our lives shapes our priorities. By valuing these aspects, we cultivate a sense of purpose, connection, and compassion that enriches our existence.

The name of our ranch, rooted in the livestock brand given to Ray by his great uncle when he was a teenager, reflects a deep connection to our family history. This homage to the past carries a sense of tradition and heritage, tying our present endeavors to the legacy of those who came before. Such a meaningful name adds layers of significance and personal history to our ranch, creating a bridge between generations and honoring the roots from which our journey began.
